There’s a lot of stuff I share on the Internet every day. Here’s a round up of the things I most enjoyed last week by category.
Inspiration
- Brene Brown on critics. This was her talk at last year’s 99u conference. Just one little nugget of wisdom: “If you’re going to show up and be seen there is only one guarantee and that is: You will get your ass kicked.” Furthermore, “If you’re not also in the arena getting your ass kicked, I’m not interested in your feedback. Period.”
- Korean artist transforms her small studio into dreamlike worlds without Photoshop.
- 10 reasons you need at least 8 hugs a day to be healthy. If you ever wonder why I hug everyone, it’s because… health!
Nifty
- When the rest of Spanish class made songs, this student made her own Spanish soap opera. Viva la creativity!
- Bill Murray is delightful.
- Vandals are landscaping dicks into at a sculpture park. Lay off him, man. He’s just SCULPTING.
Music
- White Christmas by The Drifters
- Baby It’s Cold Outside by Rosemary Clooney and Hoagy Carmichael
- All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey
Hey there. FIrst, I love your blog. I am a first time commenter, but have a couple things to share:
1. I laughed at the spanish soap opera. I was once assigned to create an alien out of magazine clippings, collage style. I found a photo of “Juan Valdes” and created “Pedro – an illegal alien.” My teachers weren’t quite sure what to do with that.
2. Bill Murray is a local celebrity here in Charleston, SC as he is part-owner of the RIverdogs baseball team. I worked at the Telluride Film Festival for many years with my former spouse. I was pleasantly surprised when he was one of the favorite guests a few years ago.
3. I lived for a few years in Winston-Salem, NC, where we had a pretty incredible phallic building: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/22697507
4. I visited your city last summer and fell in love. Thanks for sharing!
Happy Holidaze 🙂
