There’s a lot of stuff I share on the Internet every day. Here’s a weekly round up of the things I most enjoyed last week by category. 

Inspiration

• Are you datable? Confession time: I think about dating.  A month or two ago I started an Evernote that was very reminiscent of this list. I knew I wasn’t ready then, but I had started to piece together things that would be great in a future guy and what my true deal breakers are. Nearly all of my list are things I wouldn’t have dreamed of caring about 15 years ago. 
• I never want to visit the Gynotician. 
• Dating behaviors I’m done with.  This one made me LOL: “If you like someone, don’t send them mixed signals. Send them flare signals. Write that shit in the sky via airplane. Life’s too short to be coy, and while you figure out whether you’re into me, I’m going out. I got new jeans and they need to be seen.” I’m still laughing at ‘flare signals’. 

Nifty

• Matt Nathanson between songs. He’s a funny and charming dude with great, great stories. For instance, beginning around 2:25: “I’m going to make sex with him until he likes women.”
• Gary England in the New York Times.
• Live Photoshop at a bus stop. 
• Offline dating in Park Slope. “I’ve lived in Brooklyn for  years. I try to date girls in Manhattan all the time. It’s such a pain in the ass.”
• Newport Folk Festival in gifs. The Jim James one is perfection.

Songs 

• Winter Solstice – Cold Specks Lordy… her voice. Lordy… her words.
• Recovering the Sattelites by Counting Crows Have been listening whole album to this all week, non-stop in the car. It is one of my all-time favorite albums. Every time I pick it up from an absence I’m shocked at how much it still hits me right in the feelers. Another Horsedreamer’s Blues would easily fall into my personal Top 100 Songs List. Bonus: as I was searching for an appropriate link to post, I discovered that there is a documentary of the making of this album.

Inspiration

• The rock & roll casualty that became a war hero. “At 26, he wasn’t just Pete Best, the guy the Beatles left behind. He was Pete Best twice.”

Nifty

• Maid of honor Eminem wedding toast.
• Hipster Ipsum “Stumptown you probably haven’t heard of them shoreditch, trust fund art party Godard Truffaut fixie roof party High Life 90’s pickled keytar shabby chic forage. Wes Anderson disrupt selfies, meh irony actually keffiyeh cred skateboard swag pork belly hella wolf Vice.”
• The buyer and the beats: the music consumer and how to reach them. I haven’t read all of this, but the part I’ve digested so far is fascinating.

Songs 

• Sideways by Seryn.  A much better capture of the encore to the Seryn show we saw at The Kessler last month. Can’t wait to show this find to the kids.
• Half Moon by Blind Pilot.

Songs 

• Saved These Words by Laura Marling “You were not my curse.” So many great lines in the song. I was telling my friend Nathan a few weeks ago that I was pretty ‘meh’ on her last album. What I didn’t know was that I hadn’t heard it as I didn’t know she had one (I was referring the previous album). What a treat! 
• All I Want by Kodaline This would have been in constant rotation 5 months ago if I’d known about it. In any case, it’s beautiful.
• Ivory Black by Seryn I’m such a Seryn junkie right now. Absolutely cannot get enough and eagerly await the new album late this year.
