I love the Internets

There’s a lot of stuff I share on the Internet every day. Here’s a weekly round up of the things I most enjoyed last week by category.

Inspiration

Nifty

  • An interview with The Oatmeal. “My eating habits are that of a circus animal. Every time I do a trick, I get a reward. Ran 20 miles? Heck yes it’s time for meatloaf and gummy bears. The best advice I can give other runners is to not eat like I do.”

Songs

  • A Song for Zulu by Phosphorescent  I love him. Just….so much. Their set at Gentlemen of the Road was spectacular and captivating.
  • Hold On by Alabama Shakes Her voice rolled low and descended alongside the lyric “….hooooold on”, powerful and in perfect unison with a bead of well-earned sweat as it descended the length my spine. If her intention on Saturday night in Guthrie was to submit me to the soul of Alabama Shakes, she succeeded. I’ll remember that moment for the rest of my life.
  • Agape by Bear’s Den So far, I can’t find the song that brought cold chills over my body whilst smoldering in the 100 degrees and pure sun. (Pompeii) But this song, it had my heart in it’s grip. This is an actual performance from Gentlemen of the Road on Saturday.
  • Pompeii by Bear’s Den You know what? I’m the editor-in-chief around here. Here’s the song from a different stopover on the tour. Just pretend I’m standing to the left covered in goosebumps, singing along and choking back tears. And melting.
