Kicking ass, taking names.

Two weeks ago my buyer’s lender, a day before closing, said, “Hey buyer, you forgot _____.” It took a week for them to get the document, then it took nearly a week for their lender to process everything and they got the clear to close.

Yesterday afternoon, I learned their lender repeated this, “Hey, you forgot ______” 3 or 4 times this week and they don’t have a clear to close.

We have TWO houses packed and waiting to move, utilities scheduled to cut or already cut, movers (pay and volunteer) scheduled.

Because of MY lender on the house we’re buying making some last minute requirements, I financially *have* to close before I sell. Unless I can pull $1,000 from the sky (which isn’t much money compared to the grand total but it is a lot when your other $17k is spoken for in the rest of the transaction).

At 8am I’m blending my Daddy’s good old boy attitude and stubborness along with my Mama’s, “You know what, I really don’t give a shit what you think….FIX IT” attitude and calling down the list of people involved with this transaction.

Something’s got to give. Any suggestions are appreciated.

PS – If you happen to want to buy a house, I highly suggest you avoid PrimeLending (http://www2.primelending.com/).

  1. Unacceptable. What a bunch of morons. I’ve closed four times on a house and never had any snags at all, much less this kind of ridiculousness. Maybe you should threaten to walk from the deal. I’m not sure they would buy it, knowing you’re all set to go and don’t want to forfeit your earnest money, but it’s something to consider.

Sorry you are going through this. It sounds absolutely maddening.

When we were in your exact (!) situation 4 years ago, I called the buyers, the buyers realtor, and the buyer’s lender. The lender informed me it was highly inappropriate for me to call. My response was ‘so.’
